Diesel Recovery Emergency Fuel Treatment

Diesel applications operating in extremely cold environments face some unique challenges. As the temperature drops, wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals can eventually clog the fuel filter and starve the engine of fuel, preventing it from starting or even stalling out a running engine.

AMSOIL Diesel Recovery quickly dissolves gelled fuel to allow the operator to continue driving with minimal downtime. Diesel Recovery separates the molecular bonds of wax crystals that have agglomerated in diesel fuel. It thaws frozen fuel filters and reduces the need for a new filter, saving money and preventing an inconvenient trip to an auto parts store. More Information.

Technical Service Bulletin: Wet Clutches The Best Motorcycle Oils
Are you concerned about wet clutches and synthetic oil? Don't be. Make sure the oil has no friction modifiers. Most automotive oils both synthetic and petroleum have friction modifiers and they are a good thing in your car since they help with fuel economy, but they are bad when you have an oil-immersed clutch. Paste this link into your browser: http://www.amsoil.com/dealer/techservicesbulletin/TSB_wetclutch_operation.pdf for an in depth breakdown of wet clutches and why they may slip. This gets pretty technical, but it does a great job of explaining things. It provides the frictional ratings for JASO MB, MA, MA1, and MA2. Feel free to contact me with any questions or for applications to your specific setup. Remember that if you order through Amsoil's corporate site or by phone at 1-800-956-5695 please give my dealer # 1463115 Mike Trull. **New Product** August 2008 10W-30 motorcycle oil (MCT) See for yourself how Amsoil 10W-40 and 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oils compare to Screamin' Eagle, Mobil-1, Bel-Ray, Motul, Royal Purple, and many others. ASTM tests are scientific and repeatable and the results speak for themselves. The Viscosity Shear Stability test (ASTM D-6278) is a real eye-opener that shows that some of the oils tested dropped entire viscosity grades! (i.e. an SAE 50 oil shearing down to an SAE 40) This is bad news considering the heat here in Florida and the stress a motorcycle puts on its oil (especially if your engine oil also lubricates your transmission). Green lubricants for your car
We’ve always said Amsoil is Red, White, and Blue since it is made in Superior, WI USA. Amsoil is America’s oil. But Amsoil is also GREEN oil and always has been since it became the world’s first synthetic motor oil to meet API specs for automotive use in 1972. Amsoil has been recommending 25,000 mile/1 year oil changes since the beginning. The Green movement of the last few years has people thinking differently about products they buy. Amsoil’s extended drain synthetic lubricants, long-lasting nanofiber air & oil filters, and biodegradable & non-toxic propylene glycol engine coolant/antifreeze fit the new way people are thinking. Amsoil synthetic lubricants also reduce our dependency on foreign oil. We’ve always said Amsoil is Red, White, and Blue since it is made in Superior, WI USA. Amsoil is America’s oil. This is relevant since Europeans have been on 10,000+ mile oil changes for years. While we’re on the subject we also have oils that meet JASO MA/MA2 specs for motorcycle wet clutches. CI-4+ and CJ-4 diesel oils the latter approved for diesel particulate filters (DPFs) on ultra-low emissions diesel engines. Amsoil INC is also ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFIED ensuring the highest quality lubes from batch to batch. Any questions? Feel free to contact me. Amsoil- The First In Synthetics.

Somethings you can do to lessen the impact of the high cost of fuel:
Are fuel and energy prices making you sick? Remember to keep your tires aired up and your engine tuned properly. One of the biggest changes I have made is the way I approach and leave stoplights. If you know that a light is red ahead and you will have to stop, why accelerate towards it? Coast to red lights, maybe it even turns green so you can maintain your momentum. When starting off from a stop light accelerate gradually, get into top gear and cruise steadily. Know your car. Feel your car shift into overdrive and/or torque converter clutch lockup. A manual transmission is even better, I can have my 5.0 Mustang in 5th gear at 45mph (about 1,500 rpm). I have found I can get better fuel economy without cruise control it seems to 'over correct' and apply too much throttle at times. Besides these tips, have you converted to Amsoil synthetic lubricants? Most cars today can use either Amsoil SSO 0W-30(replaces 5W-30 and 10W-30) or ASM 0W-20(replaces 5W-20). How about Amsoil HDD 5W-30 diesel oil? These oils are our top performers when it comes to fuel economy. What about wear protection? Look at the product pages for the SSO and HDD and see the 4-ball wear tests of those oils compared to other brands. "But Mike, I can't use a 0W-anything in high ambient temperatures, right?" Wrong. The SAE 0W, 5W, etc numbers denote cold weather performance and flow. Therefore, an SAE 30, SAE 10W-30, and SAE 0W-30 all have about the same viscosity at operating temperature. Petroleum based oil has a much lower viscosity index than synthetic. This means it thickens greatly in the cold. A multi-viscosity 10W-30 petroleum based oil generally starts with an SAE 10W oil and has VII or viscosity index improvers added to keep it an SAE 30 at operating temp. When these additives wear out, the oil can lose its viscosity especially with high temperatures and shearing forces. Amsoil's synthetic base oils have a naturally high viscosity index and do not thin down and lose viscosity. What about synthetic transmission and gear oil? Every bit of friction reduction helps to increase fuel economy. Also available are NGK spark plugs and wiresets for your tune-up. Scroll up and click on "Online Product Lookup Guide" to enter your car's year, make, model, and engine and get your printable list of your car's recommended Amsoil synthetic lubricants, filters(don't neglect that fuel filter), NGK spark plugs, etc. Don't forget about the Amsoil PI Performance Improver gasoline additive that not only cleans fuel injectors but also combustion chambers. Click 'Other Links' to watch a Powerpoint presentation by an engineer on engine deposits and the results seen using Amsoil PI in a wide array of gasoline fueled cars and light trucks. Lower our dependence on foreign oil with Amsoil! Amsoil is American ingenuity at its finest.

Why become an Amsoil Dealer?
If you've ever wanted to start a business, even part-time, Amsoil is for you. It can be as simple or as large as you want. I started as a Preferred Customer because I was buying enough Amsoil ATF to do transmission filter/fluid flush on 3 cars; it really saved me some money. Now I am a dealer because I believe in the products and can see the market for synthetic lubricants exploding in the next 5-10 years as auto manufacturers extend oil-change intervals. Why do we spend our hard earned money on a car and then use the cheapest oil we can get? Even the best conventional oils changed at 3,000 miles can't come close to the performance of Amsoil changed annually or 25,000 miles! The trend toward synthetics and longer drain intervals will continue. The State of California and General Motors teamed up to educate the public on the 3,000 mile myth. Again, there's never been a better time to be an Amsoil dealer! Call 727-812-4181 or click 'Contact Us' and request info on becoming an Amsoil dealer.
